The Party Place_Now is the Time to Plan Fall Parties

It’s August in Portland and we are still enjoying above 90-degree weather and there is plenty of Summer left—but that doesn’t mean it is too early to start planning your Fall party. Whether it’s a celebration of Autumn, Oktoberfest, or even Halloween, you will want to plan out your invitations, lock down your venue, and rent your party equipment sooner than later.

If you are celebrating Autumn, you might still get away with a party outdoors, it is an unexpected and perfect way to celebrate the season as you are surrounded with all the signs of the changing season. If you are planning an outdoor party don’t forget to check out these 4 tips for outdoor event planning and you may also find the three T’s of outdoor event planning helpful.

As far as color scheme you can’t go wrong with Bavarian white and blue. At The Party Place we have plenty of linens to rent, but if you want something that says Oktoberfest, then you might want to try the Gingham Blue Poly Print table cover.

Of course, don’t forget the beer. If you want to create a truly authentic experience, you should buy beer from the six Munich breweries that have tents at Oktoberfest. Only these six breweries can produce the official Oktoberfestbier that is served in Munich: Augustiner, Hacker-Pschorr, Hofbräu, Löwenbräu, Paulaner, and Spaten. Not all Munich breweries ship their Oktoberfest beer worldwide. Currently only Hacker-Pschorr, Hofbräu, Paulaner, and Spaten Oktoberfestbier are shipped to the United States.

These are more costly than domestic options, but we think these choice brews are more than worth the extra expense for your Oktoberfest celebration. Your guests, who may not taste these beers anywhere else, will most likely appreciate them as well. Don’t forget to get plenty of Beer Mugs. You can get a rack of 25 Beer Mugs for only 50 cents apiece.

For some, it might feel like Halloween has been hijacked by the adults. But regardless whether you’re throwing a party for kids or adults or both, Halloween has become more popular year after year because of the multiple directions you can go with the theme; haunted house, freak show, horror movie, or mad scientist.

Whatever your Halloween theme, the centerpiece is going to be the punch bowl, filled with blood red juice or steaming with dry ice—maybe both? Pick out the perfect punch bowl to rent, you can go as small as 2 gallons or as big as 5 gallons.
